Lift this feather

I feel like making pillow talk
where all the pieces of our heads
are laid out in decent order.

“Lift this feather,
before the wind takes it.”

It’s our inheritance:

Chocolate and red wine.
Snowflakes snuggling in
our barista’s singing hand.

  1. We are mixed company, held in a hand, brought together… not by some higher meaning and purpose, not to form something cohesive. The founder of ourselves and feast here is beautifully haphazard constituent folds us together for no higher purpose than joy… God IS truly a barista. This makes me smile
